Do I have to be a club member to race?
No. But because of the discounted club rate, a membership will pay for itself over the season if you plan on racing regularly
What is ROAR and why do I need to be a member to race?
ROAR is the sanctioning/governing body for R/C racing in the US. AROARA is a ROAR sanctioned club. Because of that, we are covered under their insurance policy and in the slim chance someone gets hurt and requires medical attention resulting from racing activities, ROAR's insurance covers that and our club is not held financially liable.
I have a [insert vehicle name here] can I race it?
Yes. Most likely, a new racer will begin in the Novice/Production Class which is a "run what you brung" class that is open to almost any type of vehicle. But if you race this class you can not race in any other class. This is to keep this class specificaly for novice drivers. When you are ready, the board will move you up to a more experienced class.
What kind of vehicles do you guys race?
Racers are broken up in "classes" depending on what type of vehicle they drive. The popular classes are 1/8 scale 4WD buggy, 1/8 scale 4WD truggy, Monster Truck, slash/sc10 and Novice/Production. We are also trying to get 1/10 scale gas truck and 1/10 electric going agian. If you have something that doesn't fit into those categories, bring it anyway. You can always race in the production class, plus, if enough people show up with the same type of vehicle, we'll make a class to race 'em.

Where does the money go that is collected at the races?
During summer racing, entry fees go to maintaining the track, purchasing supplies such as new boards around the track, new piping, rental of equipment, giveaways and trophies. During the winter it is used for rent and any monies left over from summer usually goes to rent also.
